Comedy Bang Bang
Farts and Procreation 1/4
The Farts and Procreation series on Comedy Bang Bang includes some of my favorite episodes of any podcast. Adam Scott (Ben from Parks and Recreation) and two of the show’s writers, Harris Wittels (RIP) and Chelsea Peretti (currently of Brooklyn Nine-Nine fame), completely lose the thread on every weird half-baked bit they attempt—in the best way possible.

Doughboys
Tony Roma's with Bug Mane
Doughboys is a great podcast about two men eating themselves into an early grave. Bug Mane is a piece of shit maniac asshole who destroys everything he touches. His appearances on the program make me want to kill myself. Enjoy.

Do You Know Who Jason Segel Is?
New Mexico
The premise of this podcast is as follows: comedians Nick Thune and Brendon Walsh call unsuspecting businesses and ask whoever answers the phone if they know who Jason Segel is. So the show is kind of designed to go off the rails. But this ep takes an especially weird detour into the drama surrounding a guy’s failing waterbed business.

Harmontown
Live at the Gramercy, NY Comedy Festival 2015: Night 2
I was at the taping of this episode and it was absolutely batshit. Dan Harmon, creator of Community, ended the show soaking wet and basically naked with his cohosts begging him to leave the stage. It was like 65% funny and 35% sad. I saw his dick.

Your Kickstarter Sucks
Fishy Flip
YKS is ostensibly a show about shitty crowdfunding campaigns, and usually that’s exactly what it is. But sometimes one or both cohosts has a little too much to drink and everything falls hilariously apart. This is one of those times.

I’m sick of these sanded down, overproduced, NPR-ass podcasts hosted by Ira Glass clones named like Jethree Rutherford-Delmonico. That’s fake. I need something real, man. Give me a beautiful disaster. Give me splinters and nails jutting out at odd angles. Give me ninety minutes of failure so colossal it becomes a warped sort of victory. These five episodes aren’t especially valuable as representatives of their respective shows’ general vibes. But they make me laugh really hard, and I hope they do the same for you.
