If you downloaded Wilson, chances are you’ve heard of This American Life. They’re 633 episodes deep, but this is their first one from 1995. That’s forever ago. You can hear this vintage MP3 in all of it audio glory and how Ira Glass in some way is timeless. He’s incredible. We hope Wilson will age like him.

If you don’t know Gimlet, you probably know one of the numerous amazing shows they produce. They got Reply All, Crimetown, Homecoming, Science Vs, etc… But before they became the “HBO” of podcasts, they were only one humble little program called StartUp. Before Alex Blumberg became ALEX BLUMBERG, he was just some dude trying to raise money for a dream. And we see a little bit of him in Wilson. This is our humble beginning.

One of the funniest podcasts still running today. Before taking their audio/live show to HBO, before Phoebe Robinson and Netflix, and just when Jessica Williams left The Daily Show, this is what they were up to. Sometimes you just know from the beginning that something is going to be huge. They ended up exactly where they were supposed to…at the very top.

The title of this podcast itself raises a lot of expectations, and Anna Sale has met each and every one of those expectations for the last 4 years. Especially with topics around human nature, the stories are forever relatable and they manage to stay classic. There is absolutely no difference between the impact of this episode compared to any newer ones today.

You may have not heard of this one, but this is one of those funny fictional seasonal podcasts that’s packed with inside jokes and unfamiliar contexts, unless you start from the beginning (which is just too difficult to scroll to in the Podcast App). It sounds nerdy and maybe the first couple of minutes are corny, but give it a chance. I promise it won’t let you down. Just get to Episode 2!
