New York, NY – Wilson is a podcast magazine. Once a week, we’ll send you a curated playlist of culturally relevant and thematically significant episodes packaged into a perfect issue. You don’t need to register, there is no onboarding, and we don’t use algorithms that syphon you into your own personal content hell. We’ve built a new and different way to experience, curate, and build community around the thing we love the most: podcasts.
All players today look the same, perpetuating the same visual dullness that is podcast aesthetics. More importantly, every player is addressing the wrong problem. They’re either too “Subscribe” focused (which leads to content fatigue), too socially oriented (are we still adding social to everything?), or too dependent on premium content (this ain’t HBO). The other podcast players that aren’t focused on anything are betting that you’ll settle for an Apple alternative. They’ve all failed to address the fundamental problem, and that’s discovery. Current solutions are tedious and uninspiring. Labels like “popular” or “trending” are poor qualifiers for rich content. Ultimately, we resort to our friends and that becomes an unsustainable and fragmented experience.
Wilson is here to change all of this. Every week, we’ll share a short playlist of podcast episodes that we (and the people we like) love, and we’ll let you know why we love them. Easy, lightweight, and slick. We’re your podcast friend. We’re new, we look good, we speak to you like a real person, and we’re most definitely not for everyone. That said, we hope you get to know us.
